Hi! I’m Lydia Aw Yong, a UX Designer with a 9 years career building 0>1 B2C products in start-ups and pioneering UX processes for companies. I'm now currently designing complex B2B enterprise products for defence.
From working as a team of 1 in startups to leading small teams in projects, I had fluidly adapted my involvement and strategy to ensure the effective delivery of design outcomes for end-users and businesses. I had also trail blazed initiatives to reduce design team's inefficiencies and maximise impacts.
I am a strong believer that user research forms the cornerstone of good design. My hands-on research experience includes both qualitative and quantitative research. Besides, I had initiated the generation of user research study templates and workshop activities cards to inspire the team.
I believe a strong UX solution is closely tied in with both business and users’ outcomes while guided by key usability principles. Holistic UX is beyond the confines of design but extends to etablish strong partnerships with cross functional teams and data driven outcomes to communicate with stakeholder.
My visual design is developed from the inspirations of product's brand identity and "thinking out of the box" ideation sessions to discover varied experimental solutions. I seek to continuously develop with feedback and experimental learning whilst putting on my curious lens in discovery.
Over the past 9 years, I have worked with a diverse range of industries ranging from education (NUS, NTU), robotics AI, entertainment (meWATCH) and defence industry (RSAF).
